Riyadh Season Announce Next Steps in the Boxing World

Since Riyadh Season entered the world of boxing, we have seen memorable events such as Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury and the memorable Matchroom 5v5 Queensberry. The latest move announced by Turki Alalshikh will see Riyadh Season form partnerships with Top Rank Boxing and Golden Boy Promotions.

Riyadh Season Partner With Golden Boy and Top Rank

Golden Boy Deal

The deal with Golden Boy will start on August 10 at Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, when interim WBC junior middleweight champion Serhii Bohachuk takes on the feared and undefeated Vergil Ortiz Jr. This comes one week after a stacked card on August 3 is headlined by Terence Crawford and Israil Madrimov for the WBA super welterweight strap.

When talking about Golden Boy, the statement said: “Led by legendary fighter Oscar De La Hoya, Golden Boy is the first Latino-owned boxing promotions company and continues to drive its expansion plans for the remainder of 2024 and beyond, having already developed a reputation as an industry leader in the sport with a lengthy roster of world champions.”

Top Rank Deal

A further press release on social media also confirmed the Top Rank deal: “The partnership will use the power and reach of both organizations to elevate the sport. Riyadh Season will have a presence across a host of Top Rank bills, both in the build-up and on fight night.”

The press release also spoke about the rich history of Top Rank “Top Rank is one of the most prominent promoters in the boxing industry. For more than 50 years, it has staged high-profile events in landmark settings around the world featuring some of the all-time greats, including Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar De La Hoya, and Manny Pacquiao.”

The Future

These two fascinating deals look set to bring us a plethora of great fights, and now we’ve seen Matchroom vs. Queensberry – could these deals bring us closer to more 5v5 events? Golden Boy and Top Rank have plenty of talented fighters, and to see these pugilists in bigger fights on great shows is a win for all Boxing fans.
