Akhmadaliev has been chasing a fight with pound-for-pound star Naoya Inoue, who has chosen to face Sam Goodman on December 24. He will return to the ring for his first fight since defeating Kevin Gonzalez by eighth-round TKO. His opponent has won both fights this year, against Jovanny Soto Ramirez and Ruben Tostado Garcia. His last defeat came back in 2021 vs. Daniel Roman.
