Benn vs. Eubank fell apart in 2022 due to two failed tests from the Essex fighter. Since then, ‘The Destroyer’ has been working to clear his name and recently received the news he’s been waiting for.

Towards the end of 2024, Benn released a statement via his X account, claiming he had been cleared. Following that news, the UK Anti-Doping and British Board of Boxing Control elected not to appeal his suspension being lifted.

Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn recently appeared on the Boxing with Mannix and Mora podcast and seemingly suggested that Mario Barrios was the preferred option for “The Destroyer.”

However, Eubank has spoken to The Stomping Ground and teased major news “very soon” on their much-talked-about fight: “It’s been a long time coming. It’s crazy to think this fight would have and should have happened two-and-a-half years ago,” Eubank said.

Reflecting back on the 2022 cancellation, the Brighton fighter said: “I went through a whole camp, a whole two or three months of preparation, for it to get cancelled two days before. Now we’re here, and it’s going to be three times as big.”

He added: “It’s crazy how life works. There’s extra everything. Now, it’s not just about my dad and his dad. It’s about me and him. There’s a lot of bad blood, a lot of history now. It’s exciting.”
