Boxing at the Olympics: Day One Results
The 2024 Paris Olympics have begun and boxing is back again at the leading international sporting event.

Below are the results for the first day of boxing at the Olympics.

Morning Session
Huang Hsiao-wen (Chinese Taipei) won on points against Bojana Gojkovic (Montenegro). All five judges scored the women’s 54kg fight in favour of Hsiao-wen.
Jutamas Jitpong (Thailand) won on points against Sara Cirkovic (Serbia). While one judge had the women’s 54kg bout infavour of Cirkovic, the other four scored it for Jitpong.
Nigina Uktamova (Uzbekistan) got a walkover win over Yomna Ayyad (Egypt). Ayyad missed weight for this women’s 54kg clash. As a result, Uktamova progresses to the round of 16.

Thi Linh Ha (Vietnam) won on points against Feofaaki Epenisa (Tonga). All five judges scored the women’s 60kg fight in favour of Ha.
María José Palacios Espinoza (Ecuador) won on points against Agnes Alexiusson (Sweden). While one judge had the women’s 60kg bout in favour of Alexiusson, the other four saw it for Espinoza.
Wu Shih-yi (Chinese Taipei) won on points against Oh Yeon-ji (South Korea). All five judges scored the women’s 60kg clash in favour of Shih-yi.

Radoslav Simeonov Rosenov (Bulgaria) won on points against Bakhodur Usmonov (Tajikistan). All five judges scored the men’s 63.5kg bout in favour of Rosenov.
Obada Al-Kasbeh (Jordan) won on points against Dean Clancy (Ireland). While two judges saw the action in favour ofClancy, the other three had the men’s 63.5kg contest in favour of Al-Kasbeh.
Cristian Javier Pinales (Dominican Republic) won on points against Weerapon Jongjoho (Thailand). All five judges scored the men’s 80kg fight in favour of Pinales.
Afternoon Session
Hatice Akbaş (Türkiye) won on points against Charley Davison (Great Britain). While two judges had it in favour of Davison, the other three scored the women’s 54kg bout for Akbaş.
Enkhjargal Munguntsetseg (Mongolia) won on points against Sirine Charaabi (Italy). All five judges had the women’s 54kg fight in favour of Munguntsetseg.
Preeti (India) won on points against Thi Kim Anh Vo (Vietnam). All five judges had the women’s 54kg clash in favour ofPreeti.
Alessia Mesiano (Italy) won on points against Gizem Özer (Türkiye). While one judge scored the women’s 60kg contest in favour of Özer, the other four had it for Mesiano.

Donjeta Sadiku (Kosovo) won on points against Thananya Somnuek (Thailand). While two judges had the women’s 60kg clash in favour of Somnuek, the other three had it for Sadiku.
Jajaira Gonzalez (United States) won on points against Estelle Mossely (France). While judge had the women’s 60kg fight a draw, the other four had it for Gonzalez.
Erislandy Alvarez Borges (Cuba) won via second-round stoppage against John Ume (Papua New Guinea). The time of stoppage for this men’s 63.5kg bout was 1:46.

Bazarbay Uulu Mukhammedsabyr (Kazakhstan) won on points against Oier Ibarreche Conde (Spain). All five judges had the men’s 63.5kg contest for Mukhammedsabyr.
Kaan Aykutsun (Türkiye) won on points against Salvatore Cavallaro (Italy). While one judge had Cavallaro winning, the other four judges saw Aykutsun as the winner of this men’s 80kg fight.
