Jermall on Jermell- ‘He’s hungrier now’

Jermell Charlo and Tony Harrison leading up to their rematch for the WBC middleweight belts have made it abundantly clear that they don’t like each other. I’ve written on here how Harrison at the initial press conference has called Jermell Charlo a phony.

So when to get how Charlo is feeling about the upcoming rematch,who better than to get insight from than your identical twin brother Jermall Charlo.

Jermall speaking with Keith Idec from Boxingscene.com says that the defeat he had against Tony Harrison last year has fueled him for the rematch taking place on December 21st in Ontario, California that will air over the air on FOX free TV.

“He’s hungrier now,” Jermall Charlo said in an interview to BoxingScene. “With him taking a loss, you seen in the last fight he got the knockout and got [Cota] out of there. He’s where he wanna be. He’s gonna prevail. He’s gonna do great.”

Charlo has his sights on recapturing the title that Tony Harrison won from him ironically last December at the Barclays Center on Fox as well.

This go around, Jermall says the loss has given Jermell a renewed focus.

“I’ve seen the difference in how he carries himself and how he takes things more serious,” Jermall Charlo said regarding his brother. “He’s training harder. He’s becoming a complete Jermell Charlo now. With the loss, it makes you have to go get it back.”

Jermall affirmed as much when they spoke at the heated press conference they had back in November.

“The loss taught me to be more patient. It’s serving as a great motivator. I feel I’m the best in the division and it’s my job to show everyone why I’m a threat to everyone at 154-pounds,” Jermell said at the press conference.

The heated rivalry will answer those questions in a few weeks and we’ll see if Jermell’s focus will help him regain the title against Harrison.
