Let the Wilder-Fury 2 Smack Talk Begin!

You all didn’t think it would take Tyson Fury long to rain on the victory parade that Deontay Wilder is having, would you?

While Wilder is celebrating the one-punch stoppage of his rematch of Luis Ortiz last night in Las Vegas, Fury and his team as you would anticipate, didn’t think it was that big of a deal.

First off, Tyson Fury kicked off the war of words between the two on his Twitter with the following:

“Wilder has nothing more than a punchers chance vs. me, I’m gonna school even more than the first fight. ???????? #BUMCITY,” Fury posted on Twitter Sunday afternoon.”

Secondly, Fury’s trainer, Ben Davidson, spoke with Sky Sports and stated that it’s something they will work on countering when the rematch with Wilder happens in 2020.

“I’ve said before, Luis Ortiz is a fantastic fighter but he’s not Tyson Fury. I also learned that he was a different man fight week to what he was to when he fought Tyson,” Davison told Sky Sports.

“Tyson 100 percent got under his skin, I definitely saw that in there, which is pretty understandable. Pressure of a big fight around the corner affected him. People will say he looked poor, but he took his time and he did what he was supposed to do.

“Obviously his power is something you have to negate. Mentally, Tyson is the strongest fighter I’ve come across in history and he’s proved that on a number of occasions. How do we do it? I’m not going to say my ideas on how you would do it. But it’s definitely not what Luis Ortiz just did there. Fair play to him, he had a good go but he got complacent and walked straight into distance. That’s a recipe for disaster.”

This smack is only the start of what has seemed to have been an endless string on words between these two since their draw back in 2018.  It will only gain more steam as time goes on before these two settle it in the ring next year.
