The matchup is the first one in action for the first-ever franchise champion, Alvarez making his debut at light heavyweight with the opportunity to become a champion. No better guest to start of the program to break this down than former three-division champion Antonio Tarver. “The Magic Man” lends host T.J. Rives his thoughts of the upcoming matchup this Saturday as well as his keys to look for in the fight. He also explains why, for Alvarez, it is not as big a deal for him to move up in weight.
Second, on the program is The BoxingWriter UK David Payne. Payne comes onto the podcast to lend his thoughts of the great World Boxing Super Series Final last Saturday between Regis Prograis and Josh Taylor. He also talks with T.J. about Dereck Chisora taking out David Price in the co-main event where does place him in the heavyweight picture.
Third, on the program is TC Martin, and he joins T.J. and senior writer Marquis Johns to talk about all of the media happenings going on in Las Vegas for Canelo Alvarez and Sergey Kovalev. Martin explains to us all of the drama unfold in front of his eyes as he was there for media week between Alvarez and his promoter Oscar De La Hoya.
Lastly, Marquis and T.J. run down the hijinks in Saudi Arabia with Tyson Fury. They also run down the rest of the fight cards over the weekend, including the Top Rank card on ESPN, The PBC on FS1 card, and the additional DAZN card in the afternoon featuring Katie Taylor.

Marquis Johns is a unknown humorist and avid boxing fan. His love for the sweet science goes back to when matches were 15 rounds and has been covering fights since closed-circuit pay-per-views. Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth is not only a quote by Mike Tyson, it's also a pretty good reminder to keep your guard up.
