Jake Paul sends clear warning to Cedric Doumbe ahead of Christmas Eve spectacle
On December 24, at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, Jake Paul vs Cedric Doumbe will headline a Most Valuable Promotions fight card, with the event’s global distribution and further bouts to be revealed in the coming weeks. The main event will be a professionally sanctioned 8-round cruiserweight bout contested at 200 lbs with 10-oz gloves, as confirmed in the MVP press release. On the same press release, Paul delivered a stark warning to Doumbe in advance of their cruiserweight showdown.
Jake Paul vs Cedric Doumbe set for December 24 showdown
Paul (12-2, 7 KOs) was last seen in action, being knocked out in the sixth round of his heavyweight clash with Anthony Joshua. Before that, he had beaten the aging Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Mike Tyson. Many wondered if we would see Paul again after AJ landed a big right hand in round six, giving Paul a double broken jaw.
Doumbe (75-7-1, 45 KOs kickboxing; 6-1, 6 KOs MMA; 1-0 boxing) is a combat sports legend in Europe. He’s a former two-time GLORY welterweight world champion who transitioned to MMA, recording six knockout victories in his first seven professional bouts. Doumbe is known for his passionate following and his outspoken personality, seemingly setting us up for a spicy build-up.

Paul sends clear message to Doumbe
Jake Paul gave his official reaction to the making of the Doumbe fight, where he delivered a stern warning to his soon to be cruiserweight foe:
“Cédric Douchebag was calling me out two years ago after knocking some dude out in 9 seconds. Well Douchebag, now you get your chance. I’m rusty, my jaw is janky and I don’t have kickboxing world titles like you do. But guess what, this isn’t kickboxing mon ami. This is BOXING. Just like Usyk feasted on Rico Verhoeven, I am going to eat you for dinner in Dubai on Christmas Eve and have a Coca-Cola at the arena to celebrate.
“You like to talk a lot, so let’s see what you have to say in person at the press conferences next week in Paris and Dubai. To the proud people of France, excuse-moi for what I am about to do, but your son has been naughty and he’s going to get punished. To all the fans in Dubai and all of MENA…we are doing this and we are doing it big, like Dubai always does. I’m baaaaaccccccccck.”
Doumbe also gave his reaction to the fight, via the MVP press release: “Jake Paul calls himself the Problem Child, but he’s never faced a problem like me. He has no idea what a Frenchman is capable of, and on Thursday, December 24 in Dubai, I’m going to eat ‘El Poulet’ for dinner. Jake loves to talk, and so do I, but after what Joshua did to his jaw, I’m not sure how much talking he has left. I’m going to finish the job Joshua started. Dubai is a special city to me, and on Christmas Eve, I’ll be waving le Tricolore over his unconscious body. France, this one’s for you,” warned the Cameroonian-born combat sports star.
The Big Fight Weekend verdict
This is a sensible comeback fight for Paul. Doumbe has limited professional boxing experience, with just one fight, but has huge experience in other disciplines and also has a huge following. His outspoken personality will rile Paul and help sell this fight.
It remains to be seen how much the KO loss to Joshua still affects Paul, but we will find out on Christmas Eve, because Doumbe will have opportunities to land if he can close the distance effectively and not let Paul dictate the tempo.
Paul’s previous boxing experience will be the key here, and I see him winning by unanimous decision. After Doumbe, it’s time for Paul vs Darren Till!
