With rumours swirling regarding the venue of the fight, Mike Tyson spoke to Dan Rafael, revealing who he’s backing for the likely heavyweight bout.

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: Venue confusion

The venue for Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua has yet to be confirmed, with many rumours suggesting that, if it were at Wembley, the powers that be, including Turki Alalshikh, would want it in the early hours of the morning to suit American audiences.

“I tell you from the beginning, it depends if England give us all that we need,” said Alalshikh recently.

“We want the fight here in England, but we want the time zone of all the world, especially in America. 

“If they allowed us to have Wembley late in the night, we want to do it in England. It is about the time and viewership.

“We will talk with the mayors and Prince Abdullah (bin Khaled bin Sultan).”

BoxingScene has recently reported that the dream of UK fans of having the fight at Wembley Stadium is dead, with the bout likely to take place in New York City.

Speaking to Dan Rafael, “Iron Mike” was asked who he’s backing in Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua:

“That’s gonna be fun,” said Tyson. “I’m gonna always go with Tyson Fury. I’m never gonna go against him. He’s named after me. That’s gonna be an interesting fight.”

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua remains the most anticipated fight in British boxing, but with both men past their prime, venue issues unresolved, and no date confirmed, the window of opportunity appears to be closing.
