Moses Itauma vs Filip Hrgovic now for IBF title: Frank Warren explains how
On August 29, at the O2 Arena in London, live on DAZN PPV, Moses Itauma vs Filip Hrgovic headlines a Queensberry Promotions fight card. This heavyweight bout will present Itauma with the toughest test of his career so far against the tough Croatian fighter Hrgovic. Ahead of this intriguing clash, Queensberry Promotions have revealed that the vacant IBF heavyweight title will be on the line, and Frank Warren told BBC Sport how this new development came about.
Moses Itauma vs Filip Hrgovic set for world title showdown on August 29
Itauma (14-0, 12 KOs) has walked through all opponents so far with relative ease. Last time out, his speed and power proved too much for the normally durable Jermaine Franklin. Other notable victories for the Brit came against Dillian Whyte and Mike Balogun.
Hrgovic (20-1, 15 KOs) has suffered only one defeat against Daniel Dubois, but “El Animal” has returned to winning ways since, including most recently against Dave Allen.
The Croatian was a talented amateur who has mixed at a higher level than Itauma professionally. Can the heavy-handed Hrgovic drag Itauma where no one else has before?

Many in the boxing world have been looking forward to Itauma vs Hrgovic, but Frank Warren revealed that the IBF title, vacated by Oleksandr Usyk, will be on the line.
“A lot of people have high expectations of him as I have, by the way,” Warren said.
“We signed him when he was 16. He was an amateur. We sponsored him and he turned professional with us. And he’s been amazing and sort of taken the world by storm.
“This is a big moment for him. But I’m confident he can do it.”
Should Itauma defeat Hrgovic, he will become the youngest heavyweight champion since Mike Tyson. The Brit had been ordered to enter negotiations with Frank Sanchez (IBF number 1 ranked) for the vacant title. However, a deal has now been reached for the Cuban to step aside:
“We paid [Sanchez] some money. We said whoever wins the fight, you’re not losing out, and you’ll get the opportunity to fight for the title against the winner,” Warren added.
“We know Hrgovic is going to come and give 100%, and 100% of him is hard work for anyone,” Warren said.
