Diego Pacheco vs. Immanuwel Aleem press conference quotes
Diego Pacheco
“I definitely take him seriously,” said Pacheco. “He’s a good fighter. I take nothing from him, but he’s definitely never been in there with anyone like Diego Pacheco. I’m very confident in the work we put in this camp. Ever since I started boxing at 10 years old, I’ve never let my foot off the gas. I’ve always done what I’ve had to do and that’s why I’m here today. I didn’t get this far just to get this far. Aleem is in for a hell of a fight come Saturday night.”
“This is just another day in the office for me. We’re going to put on a hell of a show for the fans this Saturday night. I hope he brings everything he got because I’m definitely coming with everything. I just want to thank all the fans for coming out. Everyone who’s here today. Everyone who’s going to show up Saturday night. Thank you guys. Just looking forward to a great night of boxing come Saturday.”
Immanuwel Aleem
“I’m just prepared for the occasion,” said Aleem. “There’s a body on Saturday. I gotta go get it. Just prepared.”
“Of course [I believe I’m going to win]. I’m a real boxer. I’ve been in this sport since 12 years old. I studied the greats. I know what’s at stake. Besides all the other stuff that comes around this, it’s hands vs. hands and I know these hands can do. They know these hands can do. That’s why the contract was signed. So that’s why we going to get it on and like I said, I’m dressed for the occasion.”
Fight prediction
From Big Fight Weekend’s Ricky Carroll: Pacheco is difficult to pin down when he uses his size and reach to control the distance in his fights, making it difficult for opponents to land anything of note. Despite knockdowns and knockouts drying up in recent fights, Pacheco has proven he has power, adept at catching opponents when they come in to close the distance. He never rushes his work, picking his punches impressively throughout his fights.
Aleem is a come-forward fighter and will try to get inside Pacheco’s reach, but it’s difficult to see him doing this, and even if he does, he could seemingly walk into an uppercut from the Renton fighter.
We are backing Pacheco to start his new Matchroom deal in style, winning by a wide unanimous decision.
