Katie Taylor makes career announcement ahead of Croke Park
On September 5, at Croke Park, Katie Taylor vs Flora Pili headlines a Matchroom Boxing fight card, live on DAZN. This fairytale fight will see Taylor challenge for the vacant WBC super lightweight championship in a historic undisputed clash against Pili. Ahead of this bout, Taylor has appeared on the Ariel Helwani show, where she revealed what her plans are after September 5.

Taylor’s next fight had been heavily rumoured, with Matchroom Boxing announcing the Irish woman will face Flora Pili at Croke Park on September 5. Eddie Hearn for Matchroom Boxing, in association with Aiken Promotions, Brian Peters and Title Event Partner, Lidl Ireland, made the monumental announcement at a launch press conference today.
Should Taylor (25-1, 6 KOs) defeat Pili (12-0, 2 KOs), she will become the undisputed champion for the third time. Pili is the current IBO champion and will be eager to ruin this historic occasion. Pili’s best wins have come against Silvia Bortot and Diana Rodriguez.
Revealing Katie Taylor’s next fight, Matchroom Sport chairman Eddie Hearn said:

Katie Taylor clarifies her future after September 5
Right from when this fight was rumoured to when it was confirmed, it has been referred to as Taylor’s last fight, but when speaking to Helwani, Taylor clarified:
“This is gonna be my final fight… After the last fight, I didn’t think there was much to chase after.
“I think this could possibly be the most iconic moment of my whole career. I also have a chance of becoming the three-time unified champion on this fight as well. I’m living beyond my dreams at this stage.”
