Curmel Moton predicts Gilberto Ramirez vs David Benavidez

On May 2, at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Gilberto Ramirez vs David Benavidez headlines a PBC Pay-Per-View event available on Prime Video and DAZN PPV for Ramirez’s WBO/WBA cruiserweight title.

This intriguing cruiserweight bout sees Benavidez move up from light heavyweight to challenge the unified champion in a Mexico vs Mexico showdown on Cinco de Mayo weekend. Ahead of this Las Vegas clash, ultra-talented prospect Curmel Moton spoke to the media and revealed his prediction for the fight.

Unified Cruiserweight World Champion Gilberto Ramirez vs David Benavidez (31-0, 25 KOs) is one of the best fights that can be made for the boxing calendar. 

Ramirez (48-1, 30 KOs) has impressed since moving to cruiserweight, and has rarely looked troubled, with only one career loss against the imperious Russian Dmitry Bivol. Benavidez has shown his class since moving to light heavyweight, winning all three fights before now moving up another 25 lbs to face “Zurdo.”

Looking ahead to Gilberto Ramirez vs David Benavidez, Moton said:

“It’s going to be a great fight, you know, I’m rooting for Benavidez. I know he a dog. He going to go in there and do his thing. I feel like I give him the advantage, you know. I know he put a lot of hard work in his camp, you know, and I’m supporting him.”

When asked why he’s giving Benavidez the advantage when he’s moving up 25lbs, Moton said: “Benavidez, he got that in him. He got that dog in him, that is hard to deal with. So, we’re gonna see how “Zurdo” handle it, but I’m rooting for Benavidez.”
