Nathaniel Collins vs. Cristobal Lorente 2 press conference quotes and fight prediction

Nathaniel Collins (17-0-1, 8 KOs) will soon take on Cristobal Lorente (20-0-3, 8 KOs) once again in a 12-round featherweight contest.

Their bout headlines a Queensberry Promotions card at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. Fight fans around the world can catch the action live on DAZN.

Both men spoke at a press conference ahead of their April 17 clash. Below is some of what they had to say.

Nathaniel Collins vs. Cristobal Lorente 2 press conference quotes

Nathaniel Collins

“I’m much more disciplined now,” said Collins. “The camp we just had – we went over to LA and sparred ex-world champions at featherweight. Big punchers, lightweights. I’ve learned about patience and discipline. That’ll take over this time [as opposed to throwing punches recklessly].”

“I made him look better than what he is [in the first fight against Lorente]. Skill wise, I don’t think he’s a world beater. I don’t think he’s the most skillful boxer. He just showed determination. Did I let him show that by standing right in front of him? Try to take him out? Yes.”

Cristobal Lorente

“I am better than the other time, too,” said Lorente through an interpreter. “I’m in good shape and I know the case [sic] to obtain the victory again in this rematch because I win [sic] the last fight.”

“Absolutely, absolutely [I won the first fight]. I’m the underdog in the first fight. Nobody believed in me. I stay in best shape than him [sic] in the final part of the fight. I [was] 100 per cent in the final [stages] of the fight.”

Fight prediction

From Big Fight Weekend’s Ricky Carroll: These two showed that when they met last time, they were more than prepared to stay toe-to-toe and exchange at close range. We expect Collins to try to establish his jab more effectively in the first half of the fight, in order to help him punch with Lorente as the fight continues. We are backing Collins to get the job done in front of the partisan crowd. Collins to win by unanimous decision is our prediction.
