Kubotera was knocked down in the third from a left hook to the head. In round five, Beltran was dropped by a one-two upstairs. Although he got up, referee Biney Martin put an end to proceedings. Beltran’s left eye was sporting a fair amount of damage, something that may have caused Martin to end the fight instead of letting it go on.
