Frank Warren is ‘thrilled’ to add heavyweight once described as ‘the heir to the throne’

Jared Anderson was widely regarded as the next great American heavyweight boxing hope. After his 2019 debut, he walked through most opponents with relative ease before suffering a devastating KO loss to Martin Bakole. “The Real Big Baby” has now made a move, signing a three-fight co-promotional deal with Queensberry Promotions, alongside Top Rank. Via a press release, Frank Warren gave his reaction.

Anderson enjoyed an impressive amateur career, twice winning the U.S. national championship. He began his professional career in a blaze of glory, with four of his first five victories coming via first-round stoppage. Convincing wins followed against Jerry Forrest, Charles Martin, and Andrii Rudenko.

A comfortable win against Ryad Merhy came in 2024, before he was dominated and stopped by Bakole on the Terence Crawford vs Israil Madrimov undercard. Anderson returned to action in 2025, recording an uninspired decision victory over Marios Kollias at Madison Square Garden. Many felt he looked disinterested during that comeback fight, and wondered what the future holds for the talented American.

Queensberry have a stacked heavyweight stable, including Agit Kabayel, Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois. Dan Rafael has reported that Anderson has agreed to a three-fight deal with Frank Warren and will face Sol Dacres on the Wardley vs Dubois undercard on May 9.

Jared Anderson (18-1, 15 KOs) was once dubbed “the heir to the throne” by Tyson Fury, and Frank Warren appears thrilled the American has chosen Queensberry to reignite his career:

“I am thrilled to add Jared to our heavyweight ranks,” said promoter Frank Warren. “Queensberry is the Home of the Heavyweights and the perfect platform for him to stay active and feature in the biggest fights.

“It is always a pleasure to work alongside Bob Arum and our friends at Top Rank. Bringing a leading American heavyweight into the mix only adds to the strength and excitement of our stable on both sides of the Atlantic.

“Jared’s next fight will take place on British soil, with further details to be announced shortly.”
