Most Valuable Promotions announce first UK show headlined by all-British unification clash
Most Valuable Promotions have continued to go from strength to strength under the guidance of co-founders Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian. The promotional company has been at the forefront of huge events such as Jake Paul’s fights against Mike Tyson and Anthony Joshua.
In recent times, MVP has also become the leader of women’s boxing. They have consistently signed the best female fighters and matched them up against each other. An MVP press release has now confirmed recent rumours of a stacked London show and a new broadcast partnership.
Most Valuable Promotions announce April 5 UK fight card
On April 5, Most Valuable Promotions will bring its first-ever event to the UK, live on Sky Sports from the Olympia in Kensington, London. This historic event will feature a fascinating double main event of Caroline Dubois (12-0-1, 5 KOs) vs Terri Harper (16-2-2, 6 KOs) in a WBO/WBC lightweight unification bout. The other main event will see the undisputed super bantamweight champion, Ellie Scotney (11-0, 0 KOs), face the WBA champion, Mayelli Flores (13-1-1, 4 KOs). If successful, Scotney will become the youngest UK boxer in history, male or female, to become an undisputed world champion.
There is no love lost between Dubois and Harper, with both going back and forth on social media in recent months, adding a bit of needle to that fight. Scotney has looked imperious throughout her career and will be looking to become the undisputed queen of the division.
On the rest of the card, Chantelle Cameron (21-1, 8 KOs) faces Michaela Kotaskova (11-0-4, 2 KOs) for the WBO super welterweight world title. Emma Dolan (8-0, 1 KO) will challenge Mexico’s IBF super flyweight champion Irma Garcia (25-5-1, 5 KOs). The press release from Most Valuable Promotions confirms that more undercard bouts and co-main event details will be announced in the coming weeks.
Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian react to UK debut news
“MVP’s latest milestone in women’s boxing fittingly comes today on National Girls and Women in Sports Day as the company brings its brand to the UK for the first time,” said Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions.
Discussing the strength of the April 5 card, they said: “This card already features three of the top pound-for-pound women’s boxers in the world and four world title fights. MVP is the global home of women’s boxing, and we look forward to giving these athletes the platform and market exposure they deserve, live from London on Sunday, April 5.”
