Raymond Muratalla issues bold challenge following Andy Cruz win
On Saturday, January 24, at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Raymond Muratalla vs Andy Cruz headlined a Matchroom Boxing in association with Top Rank event live on DAZN.
It was a competitive main event, with Cruz boxing beautifully at times, moving well, and picking his punches with precision. However, Muratalla was not to be denied, and brought constant pressure to his Cuban opponent, landing hurtful body shots and cutting the ring off efficiently throughout the 12 rounds.
The fight went to the scorecards, with the American winning by majority decision, with one judge scoring it 114-114, while the other two cards favoured the pressure from Muratalla, scoring it 116-112 and 118-110. In a media huddle after the fight, the IBF lightweight champion issued a bold callout to whom he wanted to face.

In a media huddle after his win over Cruz, Muratalla was asked who he would like to face next, and he responded with no hesitation:
“I would like the winner of Teo and Shakur next week. I’d love the winner of that.”
He was then asked if Shakur wins and drops back to 135lbs, can he face Stevenson at 135? “We’ll make that happen, too. Whoever wins, whatever weight they wanna fight at, I’m there,” said a confident IBF super lightweight world champion.
Muratalla was then asked if he was willing to go to New York City to watch Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson: “I’m calling them out now. I don’t need to go out there, I’m telling you right,” said a confident Muratalla.
