Queensberry sign ‘one of the most exciting young fighters in the world’ – Frank Warren thrilled

Queensberry Promotions continues to strengthen its stable worldwide while hosting some of the best cards in boxing. The UK promotional powerhouse recently signed two elite amateur standouts from Uzbekistan, Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev and Javokhir Ummataliev. They have now signed the undefeated Frenchman Bakary Samake.

At 22, it remains to be seen how far Samake (19-0, 11 KOs) can go. He’s untested at the highest level, with his best wins coming against Julio Alamos, Roarke Knapp, and last time out against Alejandro Ortiz.

Samake has plenty of qualities to take him far in the sport. His hand speed is arguably his best asset, enabling him to control the tempo of his fights. He’s comfortable on the inside or fighting at a distance. Samake is also defensively savvy, often slipping opponents’ punches. While not a massive puncher, the speed he throws with often leaves his opposition in trouble.

His skills have seen him go largely untroubled throughout his professional career. Under the guidance of Queensberry Promotions, bigger opportunities beckon for the talented 22-year-old.

Super Welterweight division

The super welterweight division is thriving at the moment, with talented world champions Xander Zayas, Bakhram Murtazaliev, Sebastian Fundora, and Abass Baraou at the top table.

Plenty of big fights are upcoming in this division, while Jaron Ennis and Vergil Ortiz are rumoured to be fighting each other in 2026. Whether Samake can mix it with this calibre of fighters remains to be seen, but he will seemingly get plenty of opportunities.
