Vergil Ortiz Jr Returns Home to Face Erickson Lubin on Nov. 8 DAZN Card

Vergil Ortiz Jr vs Erickson Lubin is set for Saturday, November 8, live on DAZN from Dickies Arena in Forth Worth, Texas. Ortiz (23-0, 21 KOs) will defend his WBC interim super welterweight title against Lubin (27-2, 19 KOs) on a Golden Boy promotions card in association with ProBox. Both fighters and promoters welcomed the announcement in an official press release.

Ortiz Defends WBC Interim Super Welterweight Title

Undefeated KO artist Vergil Ortiz Jr of Grand Prairie, Texas, returns to action in a hometown fight against top contender Erickson Lubin. “The Hammer” comes into this fight as the  IBF’s No. 1-ranked fighter, while also sitting at No. 5 with the WBO, No. 10 with the WBC, and in the top 10 of The Ring magazine. Despite having two defeats on his record, Lubin has proven quality with eye-catching wins over Jesus Ramos Jr and Ardeal Holmes Jr.

Ortiz, who endured over a year out of the ring after beating Michael McKinson, has since bounced back with four consecutive victories, including notable wins over Serhii Bohachuk and Israil Madrimov.

Following the confirmation of his fight against Lubin: “I’m always happy to be a part of the fights that fans want to see,”said Vergil Ortiz. “See you guys November 8!”
