Most Valuable Promotions has shown its continued commitment to women’s boxing with high-profile signings such as Savannah Marshall, Chantelle Cameron, Ellie Scotney and undisputed super featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner. Holly Holm Returns to Boxing Under MVP Banner

Two-Sport Icon Faces Undefeated Fighter on June 28

Holm will be making her return to boxing, having signed with MVP. She will fight under boxing rules on June 28, when she faces fellow MVP new signing Yolanda Vega (10-0, 1 KO). “The Preacher’s Daughter” was last seen in the boxing ring in 2013, when she comfortably outpointed Mary McGhee (100-90 x3) to retain her IBA and WBF super lightweight titles.

Holm is widely regarded as a legend in combat sports, famous for her win over Ronda Rousey in the octagon as well as her accomplishments in the boxing sphere. Her most impressive boxing wins came against Mary Jo Sanders, Anne Sophie Mathis and McGhee.

Holm vs. Vega will be over 10 x two-minute rounds in the lightweight division. This is a historic moment for combat sports as Holm is the only fighter to hold world titles in both disciplines. The entire card on June 28 will be shown live on DAZN.

“I’m excited to partner with Most Valuable Promotions and return to the boxing ring,” said Holly Holm. “This new chapter is going to be an exciting journey, and I’m looking forward to the challenge. Coming full circle back to boxing-I’ve spent most of my MMA career at 135 pounds, and now I have the opportunity to make my boxing debut at that weight. With boxing titles in three higher weight classes under my belt, I’m eager to pursue a fourth title in a new division.”

MVP Confirms Holm vs. Vega as Major Women’s Boxing Statement

“Holly Holm is the most dominant two-sport athlete in history—period. Her accomplishments in both boxing and MMA are unmatched, and we’re honored to welcome her to Most Valuable Promotions,” said an excited Nakisa Bidarian.

Reflecting on the greatness of Holm and looking ahead to her fight with fellow new signing Vega, Bidarian said: “I remember when Holly shocked the world by knocking out Ronda Rousey, and I have no doubt she has the ability to shock the world again in her quest to become a boxing world champion once more. But Yolanda is a proud Mexican fighter and has her own plans, which is why she has signed a multi-fight contract with MVP.

“Signing both Holly Holm and Yolanda Vega reflects our commitment to building the biggest platform in the world for women’s boxing. With Jake Paul vs. Julio César Chávez Jr. headlining and Holm vs. Vega on the card, Saturday, June 28 is going to be one of the most entertaining events of the year.”
