Austin Williams vs. Patrice Volny: Press Conference Quotes and Fight Prediction
Austin Williams (17-1, 12 KOs) and Patrice Volny (19-1, 13 KOs) will soon face each other in a middleweight clash.
Their bout headlines a Matchroom Boxing card at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, FL. Fight fans around the world can catch the action live on DAZN. Ahead of their March 15 contest, both men spoke at a press conference. Below is some of what they had to say.

“First of all I want to say thank you to God,” said Williams.
“Thank you to Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Boxing, DAZN. Everybody who has been on this journey with me. It has not been easy. Man, y’all see my highest of highs and lowest of lows. I’m inspired, actually, by the people on this card. We got Omari Jones right here. Olympian on the card, you know, helping me push myself forward. Someone I can look forward to. I think one of the greatest things to be able to be is grateful. One of the greatest things to be able to do is admire someone else. Admire others because to be an Olympian and to have an Olympian next to me is just saying this is where I’m supposed to be…”
Patrice Volny
“Yes, it’s going to be a great fight, big fight,” said Volny. “Ammo [Austin Williams] is a tough fighter, a good fighter. I’ve been in the game a long time, you know? I’ve been on the road a long time. I’m here to fight. That’s what I love. For sure we gonna have a super fight Saturday.”
“My team called me and they [said] ‘hey Pat, do you want to fight Ammo?’ I [said] yes right away. Yes right away. I know he would never say no. I know we fighters. That’s what we do. I’m not here to just fight a regular fight, you know? At one point I want to build it [sic] to the top. If I make it, I make it. If I don’t, [then] now we clear. We know the game, you know. But I was 100 per cent in and I think it’s going to be a great, amazing fight.”
Fight Prediction
Volny has fought almost the entirety of his career in Canada and those outside the country may not be fully aware of his abilities. In June last year, he was in an excellent fight that saw him stop Steven Butler in nine rounds. Back in 2021 in his only prior bout in the United States, he gave Esquiva Falcão a tough outing. While the odds may not be in Volny’s favour, do not rule him out against Williams, who entered the sport relatively late. Expect a Volny win via unanimous decision.
