Matchroom sport chairman Eddie Hearn recently spoke to iFLTV and revealed Benns mindset: “Let’s fight for the world title. I’ll win the world title, then I’ll fight Eubank and, by the way, that fight will be even bigger.”

Eubank Jr. or Barrios

On the latest Boxing with Mannix and Mora podcast, Hearn was asked about the Benn situation and whether Chris Eubank Jr. is the priority or if a world title shot is preferred, Eddie Hearn said, “I mean, we saw (Mario) Barrios perform mediocrely in his last fight.”

Hearn continued: “I believe Conor Benn beats Barrios in London and he would in doing so become the WBC world welterweight champion which has a lot of stock in that, you know. I mean it would be a great position for him.”

Revealing the financial difference between fighting Chris Eubank Jr. over Barrios, Hearn said: “The money to fight Chris Eubank Jr. is four times more than fighting Barrios.”

Whatever comes next for “The Destroyer,” many will be tuned in to see what Benn has left after all his public problems.
