Gervonta Davis vs. Lamont Roach Jr.: Intriguing Co-Feature Set for Dec. 14 Card

On December 14, Gervonta “Tank” Davis will defend his WBA lightweight title against Lamont Roach Jr. at the Toyota Center in Houston. The entire card will be shown on Prime Video PPV and PPV.com. The card has yet to be formally announced, but both fighters and Premier Boxing Champions have posted about the fight on their social media channels. Dan Rafael via his Fight Freaks Unite substack has revealed that the undercard for the fight has started to take shape, with an intriguing rematch set to be the co-feature with Brandon Figueroa (25-1-1, 19 KOs) defending his WBC interim featherweight title in a rematch against Stephen Fulton Jr. (22-1, 8 KOs).

Brandon Figueroa vs. Stephen Fulton Jr. Rematch Set for Davis-Roach Undercard

Undercard Takes Shape for December 14

The rematch with Fulton is something Figueroa has wanted since his close majority decision defeat in an action-packed unification match in November 2021. Since that hotly-contested defeat, Figueroa has moved to featherweight and won all three fights since – with victories over Carlos Castro, Mark Magsayo and Jessie Magdaleno bringing him to December 14.

After becoming the unified champion, Fulton defended the belts successfully against Daniel Roman before being convincingly defeated by Naoya Inoue. “Cool Boy Steph” finally returned to the ring on the Canelo-Berlanga undercard, where he narrowly defeated Carlos Castro via split decision.

Rest of the Card

Another intriguing bout for the December 14, is set to feature Houston’s Jermall Charlo, according to sources to FFU. It will be fascinating to see what Charlo has left, having only boxed once in 3½ years. Rafael reveals that the leading candidate to face Charlo is Thomas LaManna. Prime Video will likely have a free-to-air undercard section before the pay-per-view actions. One possible fight stated for this is the WBC super welterweight champion Alberto Puello against mandatory challenger Sandor Martin.

Stay with Big Fight Weekend for the latest news as this event and undercard become finalised.
