On March 28, at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, Moses Itauma vs Jermaine Franklin headlines the Queensberry Promotions Magnificent 7 fight card, live on DAZN.

This event was initially scheduled for January 24, but Itauma suffered a torn bicep muscle, leading to the postponement. Ahead of Itauma vs Franklin, Carl Froch spoke to NewBettingSites, revealing his prediction for the main event on March 28, while making a bold claim regarding the outcome of a potential showdown between Itauma and Anthony Joshua.

Moses Itauma vs Jermaine Franklin set for March 28

Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) was last seen in action, blowing away Dillian Whyte in the first round. That win followed impressive KO’s of Demsey McKean and Mike Balogun.

Franklin (24-2, 15 KOs) has a durable reputation, proven by his points defeats against Joshua and Dillian Whyte. In his last fight, Franklin recorded a career-best victory, defeating then-unbeaten Ivan Dychko.

Carl Froch backs Moses Itauma against Franklin and Joshua

Looking ahead to Moses Itauma vs Jermaine Franklin, Froch said:

“Itauma versus Franklin is a good step up for Itauma, and I think he gets the job done easily, probably stopping Franklin inside six rounds. Franklin has been relatively inactive for a couple of years and is average at best. I personally feel that Itauma is pretty special and very talented. He punches hard, is quick, and will overwhelm Jermaine Franklin pretty quickly. I think this will be an easy job for him.”

Discussing Itauma’s future, Froch identified Anthony Joshua as an ideal opponent for Itauma:

“Out of any of the heavyweight ex-champs I think AJ would be Itauma’s best pick to look good against, because I think AJ’s not the force he was. Psychologically and mentally he is not there anymore. He’s been banjoed a few times. I don’t think his heart’s in the fight game anymore. So, it’s a bad fight for AJ, yeah, and I think that Itauma probably beats him.”
