Tommy Fury Says He’s Not Just Another Jake Paul KO Victim
The countdown to Sunday’s PPV main event in Saudi Arabia between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury continues. And for the Brit Fury, he’s making clear that he didn’t come to the Middle East to simply be Paul’s next KO victim.
The two met the media Thursday in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia preparing for their Queensberry/MVP Promotions cruiserweight showdown,

Fury told the media
“I’m in boxing and have goals of becoming a world champion. So, if I’m going to do that, I can’t be dodging people like Jake Paul.
“Third time’s a charm, and we’re here. I’m in super fit condition. I’m ready to go put this all to bed because for the past two and a half years it’s been, ‘When are you fighting Jake Paul?’ To even mention my name in the same sentence is disrespectful to me, a person who’s been boxing my whole life. I’m going to clinically knock this guy out early.”
“You’re getting put to sleep inside four rounds. Let me tell you. I’m not an old man. I’m a fresh, young fighter. I’m going to put you away.
You had two very lucky escapes from this fight. You should have taken those escapes. You should not be sitting here right now because this is bad for you. You should have stuck to making easy money fighting old men and celebrities. I’m coming to take your head off.”
Certainly big words from Fury, the half brother of WBC heavyweight champ Tyson Fury, but it’s also part of “selling” the fight to the buying public.

Meanwhile, Paul never lacks for bravado and as we wrote Thursday, offered to double Fury’s purse money if he can beat the Ohio born actor turned social media star turned fighter. Of course, the “catch” is that it’s a double or nothing offer, meaning Fury wouldn’t get any purse money if he loses. No one is taking that part seriously.
As for the particulars, Paul boasts a 6-0 record, 4 KOs, with his previous three fights being against UFC former champions. Two of them against the former UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley. Paul destroyed Woodley with a one punch bomb KO, when he took Fury’s place in December 2021. And, Paul’s most recent bout last October against MMA/UFC legend Anderson Silva, whom he decisioned.
Fury is 8-0 in his fifth year as a pro mostly against awful competition. He previously had a short amateur background in England, as well, winning a couple of regional titles in 2016-17. But as Paul accurately pointed out, his eight pro opponents have lost a staggering 300+ professional fights. So, the quality of competition will much larger Sunday.

Now, the final waiting takes place to see if Fury gets hit with and can take the Jake Paul big right hand. If he can, he may have a chance to pull the upset.
However, 4 of Paul’s five previous opponents, got kayoed by that punch. And, he’s expecting Fury to be number five out of six.
