Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson – Sugar Shane Mosley breaks it down
On January 31, at Madison Square Garden, New York City, Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson headlines “The Ring 6” fight card, live on DAZN Pay-Per-View.

Ahead of this highly anticipated bout, Sugar Shane Mosley spoke to Fight Hub TV, breaking down the fight.
Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson set for January 31 showdown
Both fighters come into the January 31 showdown, having won their previous bouts, with Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) defeating Arnold Barboza Jr by unanimous decision, with the judges’ scorecards reading 116-112, 116-112, and 118-110. It was a professional performance from Lopez on an otherwise disappointing card at Times Square.
Stevenson produced a career-best performance last time out, defeating William Zepeda by unanimous decision on the Ring III fight card at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York City. The judges’ scorecards read 118-110 x2 and 119-109.
Breaking down the January 31 clash between Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez, Mosley said:
“I don’t know if Shakur Stevenson is gonna get slower moving up in weight or not, where Teofimo can hit him. Maybe he was really fast at 126, 130, maybe 135, but 140, you put on a little bit more weight.
“Shakur Stevenson has a very strong style where he can sit back, potshot you, and box and stuff like that, where Teofimo can also box, and is very athletic and can get from side to side and make things difficult for you as well.
“Which style is going to impose on the other is what we want to see.”
Discussing how the fight may play out: “I think you’re going to need a couple of rounds, but the first round is going to be interesting. Maybe you see some tells, but I think maybe two or three, you’re going to start seeing one leave the other. Maybe Shakur might show something different if he has to go after Teofimo; he might show some different type of heart that we haven’t seen, or a different type of fighting that we haven’t seen, and vice versa, whereas Teofimo’s hitting him with different shots off the angle that’s giving Shakur Stevenson trouble.
“We’ll see about that. We just don’t know,” added Mosley.
