Mark Reyes Jr Back In Action In June

Mark Reyes Jr. is looking to bounce back in style from his first career defeat, as he tops the bill on Pro Box Promotions’ June 12 in Tampa, Florida.

Reyes Jr. lost a close decision to Janelson Figueroa Bocachica on Showtime last time out and has since linked up with the training team headed up by Marc Farrait and Asa Beard as he looks to take his career to the next level.

Reyes Jr. opened up about his link-up with Farrait and Beard, “I’m really enjoying training with Marc and Asa and I feel this is the most focused I’ve been in training since I turned pro. Sometimes staying at home is better than going away for camp, and I feel being around my family is getting a little more out of me in this camp.

“Marc and Asa are a great team and they really are adding things to my game. Everything is very structured and organized and I like that. I like being pushed to my limits every day in different ways so everything feels fresh.

“I’ve always worked with quality trainers and I appreciate them greatly, but I feel mixing a quality camp with having a settled family life is what I need right now in my career, and that balance will get results on June 12.”

The classy Tampa welterweight tops the bill on June 12 on a card that features rising super middleweight prospect Isiah Steen, and a cast of future stars that include Jeremiah Milton, Jusiyah Shirley, brothers Marques and Dominic Valle, and more.

Reyes discussed topping the June 12 card. He said, “I’m very grateful to my team for getting me on this card, and thank you to Garry Jonas, Pro Box Promotions and DiBella Entertainment for putting me straight back into a good fight in the main event.

“I’m very excited to be fighting back in the Tampa area. I always have great support here and I appreciate that a lot. Having big support means a lot in Tampa, especially when the fights aren’t easy, the supporters give you an extra gear to push you through the tough moments of the fight.

“This next fight will be a real fight, that’s what I wanted. I didn’t want an easy contest. I felt I won my last fight on Showtime and I want to show that I’m a proper contender at welterweight and I think that my performance on June 12 will show that I’m one of the best prospects in the 147 pound division.”
