Ayton began on the front foot, but Ramos showed her intent, landing two eye-catching punches during the first round. It was a much better third round from Ayton, as she applied more effective pressure against the elusive Ramos.

Ayton began to put her shots together more effectively as the fight progressed, but Ramos kept firing back; the heavier punches from Ayton were the difference. The referee’s scorecard was 77-75 in favour of “The Star Girl.”

Molly McCann vs Beata Dudek

Up next was Molly McCann (3-0, 1 KO) vs Beata Dudek (7-9, 4 KOs) in the super bantamweight division. 

McCann looked sharp in the opening round, moving well and picking her punches. Dudek had her moments in the second round, but McCann applied effective pressure and landed the more eye-catching punches.

The Liverpudlian fighter ended the second round well on top, landing some heavy punches, leaving Dudek glad to hear the bell. Dudek showed bravery throughout and had limited success, but the constant pressure from McCann and hurtful combinations ensured she dominated. The Liverpool fighter was awarded the 60-55 victory the bout.

Joe Howarth vs Dan Booth

In the opening fight on the Leigh Wood vs Josh Warrington 2 fight card, it was Joe Howarth (15-2, 4 KOs) vs Dan Booth (6-19, 3 KOs) in the super welterweight division.

Howarth started well in the opening round, dominating with his jab, controlling the distance and tempo impressively. As the round progressed, he started to land some eye-catching shots off the jab. Howarth began to vary his punches well in the second round, punishing any time Booth let his hands go.

The domination continued over the remaining two rounds, with Howarth gaining a deserved 40-36 win.
