Hrgović is one of the fighters who continues to be on the periphery, having only lost once to Daniel Dubois.
Martin Bakole is one of the most widely discussed heavyweights, following his destructive win against Jared Anderson. The Congolese fighter has struggled in his last two fights, a defeat to Joseph Parker and an unconvincing draw against Efe Ajagba.

Talking to BoxNation, Hrgovic spoke about potential fights and revealed: “They offer me, first Bakole, and I said yes. But, Bakole said, no.”
He was then asked about Bakole being the heavyweight bogeyman, and the Croatian heavyweight delivered a brutal response: “He’s bogeyman, maybe for girls because he’s ugly and fat.”

It’s difficult to see Bakole not firing back at Hrgović, and a fight between these two would surely provide plenty of fireworks. Bakole has proven he’s happy to take a fight on short notice, so it feels there’s more to Hrgović’s ducking accusations.
