Cheema looking to take on Saleh

Umar “Uzi” Cheema is a former national Olympic fighter who is looking to make the leap from amateur to pro finally. Cheema is willing it to do with a bank and one of the names he’s looking to take on Youtube prankster turned boxer, Adam Saleh.

Now we all have seen Youtube fights, such as KSI vs Logan Paul 2, which was a big deal to the media that went around and hyped it up (I’d still want to know like most cards on DAZN, how many legit eyeballs were viewing it?). The difference in this go-around is that Cheema is that he has fought at the highest level in the amateurs.

Cheema, who has been training then and is now in Miami, was the first US-born boxer to represent Pakistan in an international event back on the 2016 Olympics team.

“When this whole Youtube boxing started, I’ve always had a distaste for it,” Cheema said to Big Fight Weekend. “I’ve had 50 amateur fights, I’ve went to national tournaments, I’ve been in the gym with 10-15 world champions such as Gervonta Davis and Vasily Lomachenko. I know what it takes to be a world-class fighter.

Why is Cheema calling out the leader of the Adoomygang? For him, it’s personal and he’s sick of seeing these Youtube fighters step in the ring with inferior competition.

“When these Youtube guys jumped in, they made a mockery of the sport. I always thought it was so cringey and so fake and inorganic. A lot of them fool their fanbases thinking there going to become world champions or that their going to have the next big fight but there isn’t one. It’s so fake,” Chemma stated.

The goal for Cheema is to take on Saleh on the Mike Tyson-Roy Jones undercard taking place on September 12th which will be on pay-per-view and the Triller app. While that card hasn’t been completely ironed out yet, it would be interesting if they make an actual competitive match involving these Youtube fighters against actual fighters.

Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth is not only a quote by Mike Tyson, it's also a pretty good reminder to keep your guard up.
