Boxing at the Olympics: Day Three Results Including Round One Knockout

The 2024 Paris Olympics are underway, and boxing is again at the leading international sporting event.

Big Fight Weekend will be covering the action as it unfolds, so be sure to return to the site each day for the daily result recap. To watch the boxing live, fight fans in the United States can watch on Peacock. Below are the results for the third day of boxing at the Olympics.

Boxing at the Olympics: Day Three Results

First Session

Wenlu Yang (China) won on points against Thi Linh Ha (Vietnam). All five judges had the women’s 60kg bout in favour of Yang.

Natalia Shadrina (Serbia) won on points against Dounia Khelif (Algeria). All five judges had the women’s 60kg clash in favour of Shadrina.

María José Palacios Espinoza (Ecuador) won on points against Tyla McDonald (Australia). All five judges had the women’s 60kg fight in favour of Espinoza.

Wyatt Sanford (Canada) won on points against Radoslav Simeonov Rosenov (Bulgaria). All five judges had the men’s 63.5kg contest in favour of Sanford.

Ruslan Abdullaev (Uzbekistan) won on points against Miguel Angel Martinez Ramirez (Mexico). All five judges had the men’s 63.5kg bout in favour of Abdullaev.

Richard Kovacs (Hungary) won on points against Harry Garside (Australia). All five judges had the men’s 63.5kg fight for Kovacs.

Diego Lenzi (Italy) won on points against Joshua Edwards (United States). One judge had the men’s +92kg clash a draw, while another had it for Edwards. The remaining three judges saw it for Lenzi.

Nelvie Raman Tiafack (Germany) won on points against Mahammad Abdullayev (Azerbaijan). All five judges had the men’s +92kg contest in favour of Tiafack.

Wu Shih-yi (Chinese Taipei) beat Cynthia Temitayo Ogunsemilore (Nigeria) via disqualification. Ogunsemilore tested positive for furosemide and has been provisionally suspended. Shih-yi progresses to the quarterfinals of the women’s 60kg tournament.

Kellie Harrington (Ireland) won on points against Alessia Mesiano (Italy). All five judges had the women’s 60kg fight in favour of Harrington.

Sofiane Oumiha (France) won on points against Obada Al-Kasbeh (Jordan). All five judges had the men’s 63.5kg clash in favour of Oumiha.

Erislandy Álvarez Borges (Cuba) won on points against Jugurtha Ait Bekka (Algeria). All five judges had the men’s 63.5kg bout in favour of Álvarez Borges.

Bunjong Sinsiri (Thailand) won on points against Jesus Nazaret Cova Romero (Venezuela). All five judges had the men’s 63.5kg contest for Sinsiri.

Teremoana Junior (Australia) won via round one knockout against Dmytro Lovchynskyi (Ukraine). Lovchynskyi was knocked down three times in the opening round before referee Muhammad Pohan ended proceedings. The time of stoppage for this men’s +92kg fight was 2:49.

Bakhodir Jalolov (Uzbekistan) won on points against Omar Shiha (Norway). All five judges had the men’s +92kg clash in favour of Jalolov.

Djamili-Dini Aboudou Moindze (France) won on points against Mourad Kadi (Algeria). While one judge had the men’s +92kg bout in favour of Kadi, the other four saw it Aboudou Moindze.

Second Session

Angie Paola Valdés Pana (Colombia) beat Donjeta Sadiku (Kosovo) on points. While two judges saw the women’s 60kg fight for Sadiku, the other three had it for Valdés Pana.

Chelsey Heijnen (The Netherlands) won on points against Won Un-gyong (North Korea). While one judge saw the women’s 60kg contest in favour of Un-gyong, the other four had it for Heijnen.

Beatriz Ferreira (Brazil) won on points against Jajaira Gonzalez (United States). All five judges saw the women’s 60kg clash for the Brazilian.

Lasha Guruli (Georgia) won on points against Malik Hasanov (Azerbaijan). All five judges saw the men’s 63.5kg bout in favour of Guruli.

Bazarbay Uulu Mukhammedsabyr (Kazakhstan) won on points against Lai Chu-en (Chinese Taipei). While two judges saw the men’s 63.5kg fight in favour of Chu-en, the other three had it for Mukhammedsabyr.

Gerlon Gilmar Congo Chala (Ecuador) won on points against Abner Teixeira da Silva Júnior (Brazil). While two judges saw the men’s +92kg contest for Teixeira, the other three had it for Congo.

Davit Chaloyan (Armenia) won on points against Delicious Orie (Great Britain). While two judges saw the men’s +92kg for the Brit, the other three had it for Chaloyan.

Ayoub Ghadfa Drissi El Aissaoui (Spain) won on points against Kamshybek Kunkabayev (Kazakhstan). While two judges saw the men’s +92kg clash for Kunkabayev, the other three had it for Ghadfa.
