Jan Paul Rivera vs. Daniel Bailey Fight Recap
Jan Paul Rivera (13-0, 7 KOs) scored a sixth round technical knockout win over Daniel Bailey (15-3, 8 KOs) to pick up his first stoppage in over a year.
The official time of stoppage for the 10-round featherweight contest was 2:58. With the victory, Rivera remains unbeaten and on the path towards a world title at featherweight. The last time the young Puerto Rican won via stoppage was in July of last year. He followed that with two decision wins in Puerto Rico.
Bailey started things off by being on the back foot and consistently throwing out the jab. However, halfway through the opening round Rivera landed a left hook that sent his opponent to the canvas. Bailey got up and despite being dropped, he continued to work off of the back foot.

Rivera pressed forward in the hopes of landing his power punches but struggled to cut off the ring. Following the knockdown, both men were mostly just connecting on their jabs and not much else. That changed significantly in round six.
Rivera had success closing the distance in the sixth, landing multiple hooks. With Bailey keeping his hands relatively low, he got hit repeatedly. Eventually, Rivera scored a knockdown with a one-two. Although Bailey got up once again, a barrage from his opponent caused the referee to step in and put an end to proceedings.
OMG WHAT A FINISH!!😱
