Three Potential Next Opponents for Agit Kabayel Including ‘The Real Big Baby’

On Saturday, May 18, we saw Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) defeat Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to become the first undisputed champion in the division since Lennox Lewis. The card was shown live as a PPV on DAZN and ESPN+ in the United States. Those in the United Kingdom could do so with TNT Sports, Sky Sports and DAZN. On the undercard, we saw another impressive performance from German heavyweight Agit Kabayel as he defeated Cuban Frank Sanchez, and attention now turns to who the WBC mandatory will face in his next fight.

Agit Kabayel Next Fight

Joseph Parker

After defeating Sanchez to become the WBC mandatory, with the title held up between Fury and Usyk until their rematch is done, Kabayel will have to seemingly look elsewhere for a fight. One option for him could be against one of the most in-form heavyweights Joseph Parker.

The New Zealand native has won his last five fights since losing to Joe Joyce, including impressive performances against Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang. Kabayels career has been a stop-start one, but his last two wins over Sanchez and Arslanbek Makhmudov have shown he has all the tools to compete at the highest level in the heavyweight division and a fight against Parker would be a fascinating contest.

Winner of Wilder vs. Zhang

Deontay Wilder is set to face Zhilei Zhang as the main event for the 5v5 card between Matchroom and Queensberry on June 1. Both will be eager to win to avoid falling further behind in the heavyweight landscape. Wilder and Zhang lost to Parker in their last fight.

Kabayel has proven he can take a shot and keep coming forward, throwing accurate shots, and working his opponent’s body. A fight with either Wilder or Zhang would be an acid test for the German. The pressure Kabayel applies and the spite in his punches – ensure he will be a problem for any heavyweight.

Jared Anderson

Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson has had his share of personal problems recently, including being arrested on a warrant for allegedly obstructing police in Huron Township, Michigan, according to court records seen by ESPN. In the ring, Anderson recently returned with a dull win over Ryad Merhy.

The American has proven he has plenty of power and finishes his opponents when they are in trouble. He varies his attacks well between the head and body. Anderson has yet to receive a big test in his career so far, and a fight against Kabayel would be an acid test for the Top Rank fighter, or could it be too much of a step up for the American?
