Natasha Jonas vs Lauren Price Fight Recap

Price started sharply in the opening round, pushing Jonas back with her lead foot before unleashing crisp one-two combinations.

Throughout the first two rounds, Jonas had her moments with single shots, but Price’s superior hand speed stood out as she consistently forced the Liverpudlian fighter onto the back foot. In the early rounds, it was difficult for Jonas to get any telling work off due to the speed of the Welsh fighter who was well on top leading into round five.

The fifth round was better for Jonas, as she landed a solid left hook. However, Price’s sharp jab and the speed of her follow-up combinations ensured she secured another round. In the middle rounds, the Welsh fighter continued to dominate.

During the championship rounds, the speed of Price allowed her to move in and out of danger while picking her shots brilliantly. It was a dominant performance, fitting for the grand stage of the Royal Albert Hall. Undisputed glory will surely be her next target. The judge’s scorecards read 98-93, 100-90 and 98-92 all in favour of the Newport native.

Natasha Jonas vs Lauren Price Undercard

Caroline Dubois (11-0-1, 5 KOs) defeated Bo Mi Re Shin (18-3-3, 10 KOs) by majority decision with one scorecard inexplicable reading 95-95, with the remaining two rightly favouring the Brit, 98-93 and 98-92. Dubois was mostly in control, picking her punches and moving effectively throughout the rounds – and despite a late charge from Shin, Dubois retained her WBC world lightweight championship.

Karriss Artingstall (7-0, 1 KO) boxed diligently throughout, scoring a knockdown in the second round on her way to a unanimous decision win against Raven Chapman (9-2, 2 KOs) to win the vacant British featherweight championship. The judge’s scorecards read 98-91, 97-92 and 96-93.

Jasmina Zapotoczna (9-1, 0 KOs) produced the cleaner work, which was ultimately enough to edge a split decision win against Chloe Watson (8-1, 0 KOs), with one judge scoring it 97-93 for Watson, while the two remaining scorecards had it 96-95 for Zapotoczna crowning her the new European flyweight champion.

Fran Hennessy (6-0, 1 KO) impressed once again in a dominating 80-72 victory against Gemma Ruegg (8-13-1, 1 KO), retaining her WBA intercontinental super bantamweight title.
