Mikaela Mayer vs. Sandy Ryan 2: Decisive Win for WBO Champ
Mikaela Mayer vs. Sandy Ryan 2 Fight Recap
The early rounds saw Mayer press forward and attempt to close the distance to land her punches. Ryan moved around the ring and countered when possible. Mayer appeared to be the quicker of the two and it allowed her to land far more frequently than her opponent. While the Brit mainly fought in the orthodox stance, she occasionally switched to southpaw.

As the fight progressed, the reigning champion continued to be the busier fighter while also sitting on her punches. Ryan was loading up on her punches and as a result not landing as much as Mayer. This changed in the eighth as the Brit increased her punch output. By the end of round eight, Mayer was sporting a cut by her left eye due to an accidental clash of heads. Despite this, the American continued trading punches with Ryan till the final bell. Her work rate over 10 rounds ultimately sealed the win for her.
