Ngamissengue kept trying to close the distance to land his punches and had some success doing so, but the reigning champion proved to be a cut above. Alimkhanuly gradually broke down his opponent as the fight progressed. In round five, he landed two massive left hooks that sent Ngamissengue back to the ropes and eventually down on the canvas. Though the challenger got up, he was clearly in no position to continue and the fight was ended, giving Alimkhanuly the technical knockout win.
