Bradley Goldsmith vs Troy Coleman

Bradley Goldsmith (12-1, 8 KOs) faced Troy Coleman (14-3-1, 6 KOs) for the midlands area middleweight title, currently held by Coleman. The opening round saw both have success – but the more accurate work came from Goldsmith. The third round saw Coleman have his best moments, but Goldsmith still landed the cleaner work.

The fifth round was impressive from Goldsmith, varying his angles well. Goldsmith seemingly was on the verge of stopping the champion and was dominating him, landing shot after shot, when at the end of the round, Coleman landed an uppercut right on the bell, knocking Goldsmith down, with the referee denying the knockdown.

The seventh round saw Coleman up the pressure and turn the fight around, landing almost at will against Goldsmith, who appeared to have punched himself out during the sixth round. Under a barrage of unanswered punches, the referee stepped in to save Goldsmith. What a turnaround from Coleman, who retains his area middleweight title via a seventh-round stoppage.

Mark Jeffers vs Ricardo Lara

In the opening fight of the night, Mark Jeffers (20-0, 7 KOs) faced Ricardo Lara (24-14-2, 12 KOs) in the super middleweight division. Jeffers started well, mixing his shots impressively and landing several eye-catching blows to the body. A body shot near the end of the opening round scored a knockdown, with the bell saving his overmatched opponent. Early in the second round, the Chorley fighter landed another well-placed shot, knocking Lara down again and sealing the win. A useful stay-busy outing for Mark Jeffers, winning by second-round stoppage.
