Anthony Olascuaga vs. Juan Carlos Camacho Fight Recap
Anthony Olascuaga (10-1, 7 KOs) put on a dominant performance to claim a second round technical knockout win against Juan Carlos Camacho (19-2, 8 KOs, 1 NC).
The official time of stoppage was 2:36. Olascuaga retains his WBO flyweight world title with the victory. He won the belt in July last year against Riku Kanu. This was his third defence of the title.
Camacho started the bout on the back foot, content with letting the reigning champion pursue him around the ring. Olascuaga consistently threw out the jab but was unable to land much else due to the Puerto Rican constantly moving around the ring. Despite this approach in the opening round, it would not be long before the fight came to an end.
Both men chose to trade at close quarters with over a minute to go in the second. A series of uppercuts rocked Camacho and he was suddenly against the ropes. Olascuaga unleashed with a barrage of punches with the challenger doing little to defend himself. Eventually, Camacho put an end to the barrage with a clinch. However, Olascuaga simply unleashed a second barrage of punches that caused referee Harvey Dock to step in and wave off the contest with Camacho still standing.
