Teófimo López vs. Shakur Stevenson press conference quotes

Teófimo López

“Good and evil, ladies and gentlemen,” said López. “Good and evil. And I promise you Saturday night, good will win.”

[Preparation] has been very good. Honestly. No media, no documentaries this time around. No cameras, no people. I tried to change that around this time just to see how it do and I kid you not, so much more work has been done amongst myself, more importantly, than anything else. We got Stacey McKinley, who as assistant trainer has been helping me. Been training at his gym alongside with my father and I kid you not, the amount of knowledge that’s been bestowed in my skills and then on top of that, the amount of progress I’ve been creating…I feel very good, excited, determined and I can’t wait to display [it] Saturday night.”

Shakur Stevenson

“Nah, ain’t nothing personal [about this fight],” said Stevenson. “It’s all business. When it get personal is when people get emotional. I ain’t even taking it that way. Like I said, I’m 100 per cent focused. I’m ready and Saturday night he going to see.”

“We’re going to see [how big of a challenge López will be]. He’s a good fighter. I can’t wait to fight him.”

Fight prediction

Stevenson is among the best defensive fighters in the world today. López will struggle to land much of significance should his opponent stick to what he does best. Despite all the trash talk between the two, Stevenson should have no problem in putting on a dominant performance. Expect him to win a comfortable unanimous decision.
