Fight prediction
Some may remember Nasukawa from his days as a kickboxer. The 27-year-old had a professional record of 42-0 with 28 of those wins coming by way of knockout. Nasukawa has also done some MMA, winning all four of his fights. Although he did not make his professional boxing debut until 2023, he had been doing exhibitions as early as 2018. The most famous of them was the one against Floyd Mayweather Jr., who stopped Nasukawa in the opening round itself.
Despite that, the Japanese fighter is an extremely talented fighter. He was considered among the best in the world during his time as a kickboxer. In boxing, Nasukawa holds a victory over former bantamweight world champion Jason Moloney. He has worked his way up the rankings and is now challenging for a world title in just his eighth professional boxing bout.
Fight fans are likely to be more familiar with Inoue’s older brother, Naoya. While the older Inoue has a knack for getting stoppages, Takuma’s bouts generally go the distance. The 29-year-old’s first attempt at a world title was in 2019 against Nordine Oubaali. Although he lost, Inoue would go on to win his next four fights to eventually challenge for the WBA bantamweight world title. He won it and made two defences before losing it to Seiya Tsutsumi last year.
Inoue’s lack of power is definitely a weakness of his. However, Nasukawa has also not had much luck in getting stoppages as a professional boxer. It would come as no surprise should their fight go the distance. In that case, Inoue’s experience should be able to help him outbox his opponent. Expect him to get the unanimous decision win.
