Five Super Featherweight Fighters to Watch in 2025
The super featherweight division has a plethora of talent, with fighters such as Anthony Cacace, Lamont Roach and O’Shaquie Foster. Here are five fighters from the division to watch out for in the next 12 months and beyond.
Super Featherweight Boxing: Top Fighters to Watch in 2025
Super Featherweight Boxing: Henry Lebrón
Henry Lebrón (20-0, 10 KOs) is an undefeated 27-year-old super featherweight from Puerto Rico. He was last seen defeating Christopher Diaz-Velez on the Richardson Hitchins and Liam Paro undercard. His last win showed he can dig deep in his fights. His reflexes and hand speed ensure he punches between his opponents with success. Lebrón also effectively switches stances, which is a valuable asset.
Albert Batyrgaziev
Albert Batyrgaziev (11-0, 8 KOs) is the next fighter on our list. While not a big puncher, the 26-year-old Russian overwhelms his opponents with nonstop pressure and accurate punches, wearing them down. His amateur background is evident in how he puts his shots together, but it’s the flurry of accurate punches that makes the difference in his fights.
Sultan Zaurbek
The Kazak fighter Sultan Zaurbek (19-0, 13 KOs) has plenty of power and doesn’t waste much when he throws. His ring IQ and ability to adjust his tactics during fights are impressive. He’s light on his feet in the mould of a Jai Opetaia or Oleksandr Usyk, which helps him control the distance well. 2025 should be a good year for this talented Kazak fighter.
Hayato Tsutsumi
Hayato Tsutsumi (6-0, 3 KOs) enjoyed an impressive end to the year, stopping Rene Alvarado. His brilliant amateur pedigree has been evident in his professional fights, as he moves well and picks his punches. His intelligence when knowing whether to engage or not is exceptional. The 25-year-old Chiba City native has the potential for a huge 2025.
Eduardo Nunez
Eduardo “Sugar” Nunez (27-1, 27 KOs) is as dangerous as they come. He’s not afraid to take a shot to get his own work off. He showed this in his last fight against Miguel Marriaga. He’s vicious with his punches and throws with serious intent.
It won’t be easy for Matchroom to find opponents for the dangerous Mexican, but “Sugar” is mandatory for the IBF title held by Anthony Cacace, with Eddie Hearn recently speaking about this possible fight: “I just don’t think Cacace will take the fight if I’m honest. I think that he’ll duck the fight and they’ll say it’s because Nunez isn’t a big enough name and blah, blah, blah. We know boxing well enough to know that.”
