Sebastian Fundora Eyes Spence or Crawford After Booker Fight

Sebastian Fundora Ready for March 22

Fundora will return to the ring for the first time since winning the WBC and WBO super welterweight titles in a bloody battle vs Tim Tszyu. Since then, injuries and opponent pullouts have seen Fundora remain inactive. He was thought to be ready to face Errol Spence Jr. in an intriguing fight, but Fundora’s promoter, Sampson Lewkowicz recently told Fight Freaks Unite that the fight was dead in the water: “I wish him (Spence) good luck.”

He added: “We are looking for a rated contender for Fundora to fight on regular Prime Video.”

The opponent was soon confirmed as Booker and Fundora made it clear he’s looking forward to March 22 and putting on a show: “Things change all the time. Opponents fall through. Events fall through. With Booker, we’ve been training hard to have our first defense of our unified titles.

“I will do what I always do. We’re all professional boxers trying to achieve world championship status. I’m here now. There were a couple obstacles along the way, but I’ll continue to do what I do and train hard to do well,” added Fundora.

Fundora paid tribute to his sister Gabriela Fundora and her becoming undisputed flyweight champion: “Watching my sister dominate her division is a blessing. We both train at the same time and put in the hard work. Seeing her do that is a dream come true – through her actions – but it was in my eyes as well.”
