Ryan Garcia vs Rolly Romero: Tim Bradley Breaks it Down
Ryan Garcia vs Rolly Romero (16-2, 13 KOs) will headline the much-anticipated “FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves” card on May 2 in Times Square, New York. The WBA regular welterweight title will be up for grabs. Ryan Garcia vs Rolly Romero: Bradley Predicts a KO and Reveals What Round
Press conferences for this intriguing card in Times Square have already taken place and it’s clear we are seeing a very different Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) from the one who displayed erratic behaviour before his fight (missing weight) with Devin Haney and even more after.
Haney-Garcia 1 saw “Kingry” score multiple knockdowns on his way to a deserved victory, in what was a dramatic fight, with Garcia scoring multiple knockdowns. The fallout from their first fight was shocking with Garcia failing a VADA pre-fight and post-fight drug test, with Ostarine found in his urine.
The fight was eventually ruled a no-contest with the Victorville native accepting a suspension for one year retroactive to the fight date and agreeing to forfeit his base salary of over $1 million.
Garcia is back now, with May 2 coming up against Romero, many are speculating what version of “Kingry” will we see, but Tim Bradley has no doubt Garcia will be victorious: “I think Ryan’s gonna catch him with that left hook and it’s gonna be night night.”
“I think Ryan has changed, definitely. I think his character has definitely changed, with the way he’s just playing it now. A lot more calmer, very respectful. Look like a real businessman now. He’s not all loud and crazy like he was. He’s kind of tamed it and toned it down a bit.”
Bradley Tips Garcia to Exploit Holes
Bradley continued with his analysis of how Garcia’s behaviour has changed: “I respect that with Ryan and I think he gonna be a lot more focussed now and he’s actually going to go and train and put on a show and I think he’s going to win by knockout.”
When asked for how long he thinks the fight will go, Bradley said: “It won’t go past six (rounds).“
He was then pressed to expand on his prediction for Ryan Garcia vs Rolly Romero: “There’s too many holes (in Rolly’s defence),” Bradley said.
