Richardson Hitchins vs. George Kambosos Jr.: Press Conference Quotes and Fight Prediction

Richardson Hitchins (19-0, 7 KOs) will soon put his IBF super lightweight world title at stake against George Kambosos Jr. (22-3, 10 KOs).

Their bout headlines a Matchroom Boxing card in The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY. Fight fans around the world can catch the action live on DAZN. This will be Hitchins’ first time defending his title. He won the belt in December last year by defeating Liam Paro.

Ahead of their June 14 fight, both men spoke at a press conference. Below is some of what they had to say.

Richardson Hitchins vs. George Kambosos Jr. Press Conference Quotes

Richardson Hitchins

“[I win this in] dominating fashion,” said Hitchins. “Like I said, Saturday night, I won’t be going nowhere. I’ll be right in front of him. Bill Haney want to say don’t run, don’t get knocked the fuck out. I ain’t fucking Devin Haney. I’ll be right there in front of him all night punishing this guy. I’m going to be right there all fucking night. I worry about the whole boxing world. This whole sport is my shit. Richardson Hitchins here to take the whole fucking sport over and I’m going to make an example out of this pussy right here…”

George Kambosos Jr.

“As you know it, I love that underdog role,” said Kambosos. “But, there’s no maybes. I’m doing this. This is not fake stuff. I’m coming to this home, in a familiar place where I’m 2-0 already, this is the trifecta. Like [Hitchins’ trainer] Lenny [Wilson] said, the talk is finished. We don’t need to sit down here and talk. If the fight sold or not, that’s his problem. I’m coming here as the underdog. I’m coming here to win this fight. You’ve seen it before. You’ve seen these eyes. Lou [DiBella], you’ve seen these eyes and I’m here to win this fight. Whatever it takes, by any means. There is no plan B.”

Fight Prediction

There is significant animosity between the pair, to the extent that a face-off was not conducted at the end of their press conference, following repeated altercations between the fighters. In the end, however, Saturday night’s winner will be determined by who is more skilled. Hitchins possesses the better skillset overall and should not have too many issues outworking Kambosos. Expect the New Yorker to win via clear unanimous decision.
