Kieron Conway vs. George Liddard press conference quotes and fight prediction

Kieron Conway (23-3-1, 7 KOs) and George Liddard (12-0, 7 KOs) will soon clash in a 12-round middleweight contest.

Their bout headlines a Matchroom Boxing card at York Hall in London, England. Fight fans around the world can catch the action live on DAZN. Conway’s Commonwealth and British titles will be at stake.

Both men spoke at a press conference ahead of their October 17 clash. Below is some of what they had to say.

Kieron Conway vs. George Liddard press conference quotes

Kieron Conway

“Now I’m here, this is what it’s about,” said Conway. “It’s not about the ones that I’ve been in before. They were big and I took that experience and I’ll take that into the ring. But it’s not about that now. It’s about this one and this is the one I’m focused on.”

“I’ve picked up these titles. Picked up other titles along the way. He talks a lot about wanting these belts. After I knock him out, I’ll give him the belts.”

George Liddard

“This is everything,” said Liddard. “You’ve seen my smile. I love this. I smile when I come to the ring. I live for this. This is everything for me and like I said, I want to achieve great things in this sport. I’ve never shied away from a challenge. I always want to test myself against the best and domestically right now, he [Conway] is classed as the best. He’s got the belts and I want them strapped around me. This is the fight for me.”

“He’s a joker, ain’t he. He’s a joker. It’s nice of him to say something, I suppose,” Liddard said in response to Conway’s comment about giving him the belts after knocking him out.

Fight prediction

Liddard may be the less experienced fighter in this matchup, but Matchroom seem confident that he is ready for this kind of fight. Three of Conway’s last four bouts have ended in stoppage, something his opponent will have to be wary of. Liddard will have to deal with a much more experienced fighter but should have the ability to outbox and eventually stop Conway within eight rounds.
