Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3: Press Conference Quotes and Predictions

Katie Taylor (24-1, 6 KOs) and Amanda Serrano (47-3-1, 31 KOs) will clash for a third time on Friday.

Their bout headlines a Most Valuable Promotions card at Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY. Fight fans around the world can catch the action live on Netflix. Taylor will be putting her undisputed super lightweight championship at stake.

Both women spoke at a press conference just days prior to their June 11 fight. Below is some of what they had to say.

Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 Press Conference Quotes

Katie Taylor

“I have my own opinion about the stuff that Amanda has been saying on our team, but the fact is I am 2-0 against her,” said Taylor. “Opinions are opinions, but facts are facts and you can’t get away from those facts. And yeah, I guess I’m just tired of the complaining and the whining from Amanda’s team. I’m going into this fight already beating Amanda and I plan to stay beating her. I plan to stay 3-0 come this Friday night.”

“I feel like people haven’t seen the best me yet and I can’t wait to showcase that on Friday night. I can definitely make the fight a lot easier for myself and I just can’t wait to step in there now and actually perform. I know that I can’t perform and produce the best performance of my career.”

Amanda Serrano

“If I had concerns, I would not take the fight,” said Serrano. “I’m a warrior. I’m going to get in there. If that cut happens [as it did in their second fight], we’re prepared. You saw what I did. I fought to the very end and the last fight and I will do it again and over and over again if I have to. I’m a warrior.”

“It truly will be an amazing feeling when everything comes together. And yeah, to bring those belts back over the bridge will be really cool.”

Fight Prediction

Taylor won both of her previous contests against Serrano, but the fights themselves were very close. Although she still ranks among the best women boxing currently, at 39 it may not be long before she calls it a day. Serrano definitely has the ability to defeat Taylor and this may be her best opportunity to do so. Expect the Puerto Rican to finally triumph against her rival via unanimous decision.
