Joshua Buatsi vs. Zach Parker press conference quotes and fight prediction
Joshua Buatsi (19-1, 13 KOs) and Zach Parker (26-1, 18 KOs) will soon face each other in a 10-round light heavyweight clash.
Their bout headlines a Queensberry Promotions card at the Co-op Live in Manchester, England. Fight fans around the world can catch all the action live on DAZN.
Both men spoke at a press conference ahead of their November 1 clash. Below is some of what they had to say.
Joshua Buatsi vs. Zach Parker press conference quotes
Joshua Buatsi
“I am excited,” said Buatsi. “The first press conference was two or three months out and I wasn’t that excited, but now we’re less than two days away, so I am ready for it.”
“It is a fight that I know I must win, a fight I have prepared very hard for and I am looking forward to.”
Zach Parker
“This is a massive fight and a thousand other boxers would jump at the chance to be here at this place,” said Parker. “I am really looking forward to it, I’ve put a lot into this training camp to headline in Manchester, live on DAZN. I am buzzing for it.”
“I believe I can knock anyone out if I land with the shots I think I can land with. Not just Joshua Buatsi, any of these guys up here. But, if it comes to a 12-round fight, I am ready for that as well.”
Fight prediction
Between the two, Buatsi has spent more time competing at a higher level at light heavyweight. He also defeated Parker back when both men were amateurs in 2014. Buatsi does have the ability to outwork his opponent, but it seems unlikely that he will get the stoppage. Parker has previously shown he is able to recover from knockdowns and work his way to victory. While he does have a stoppage loss to John Ryder, it was a hand injury that caused the fight to end early. That being said, it is hard to see him find a way to beat Buatsi. Expect Buatsi to win this via unanimous decision.
