Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis – combat sports legend added to undercard

On November 14, Jake Paul vs Tank Davis will headline a Most Valuable Promotions fight card at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, live on Netflix to all subscribers.

This 10-round exhibition has been criticised since its announcement, but the undercard has attracted positive words with four world title fights on the card.

The undercard lost Ellie Scotney due to injury, but gained another undisputed bout, with Cherneka Johnson vs Amanda Galle for the undisputed bantamweight crown.

Most Valuable Promotions have now revealed that another fight has been added to the card, with UFC legend Anderson Silva vs his old octagon rival Chris Weidman, who will be making his boxing debut.

Anderson Silva is still regarded by many as the greatest mixed martial artist of all time, with his dominance in the octagon ensuring he became the longest-reigning UFC middleweight champion in history, holding the title for nearly seven years, while recording an astonishing 17-fight winning streak and 10 consecutive title defences.

His opponent will be making his boxing debut against his old rival, and is best known for ending Silva’s legendary title reign. The All-American is as tough as they come, and holds two wins over Silva, as well as former champions Lyoto Machida and Vitor Belfort.

Speaking on the trilogy fight with Weidman, Silva said: “I am super excited to embark on another battle against Chris.”

“We have a history and on Friday, November 14th, live only on Netflix, we’re putting another stamp on our chapter together. It will be a spectacle for the fans.”

Despite it being his boxing debut, Weidman is full of confidence:

“I’m undefeated in boxing and it’s gonna stay that way on Friday, November 14, live on Netflix,” said Chris Weidman. “I’m the original spider killer.”
