Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry: Press Conference Quotes and Fight Prediction

Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) is back in the ring once again, this time taking on former mixed martial artist and current bare-knuckle boxer Mike Perry (0-1, 0 KOs in professional boxing).

The two headline a card billed as “Fear No Man”  at the Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay, FL.  Their clash will fought at the cruiserweight limit over eight rounds. Boxlab Promotions are promoting the event in collaboration with MVP. Fight fans can catch the action live on DAZN as a pay-per-view.

Ahead of their July 20 contest, Paul and Perry spoke at a press conference. Below is some of what they had to say.

“The skills is what pay the bills,” said Paul. “And he [Perry] has no footwork, no head movement, no defense. He’s a great offensive fighter and bare knuckle, but in terms of boxing, he’s going to get picked apart very quickly, and it’s going to be a short night. Like I said, my predictions are never wrong, so I stand on business every single time I manifested into reality. I, Jake Joseph Paul, will knock out Mike Perry in less than two rounds. It’s going to happen, put money on it.”

“I’m doing it for everybody,” said Perry. “For me, for the fans, for BKFC, for MMA, you know, just mainly for me, because I believe in myself and my boxing ability. I’m a brawling boxing mug, so I’m ready to get in the ring with Jake and have some fun.”

Fight Prediction

This fight brings to mind other bouts that Paul has had against mixed martial artists, such as his unanimous decision win over Nate Diaz. As of now, “The Problem Child” has been involved in boxing for over four years and has had plenty of time to develop. This gives him an advantage over opponents like Perry, who have a combat sports background, but not in boxing specifically. The only time Perry boxed professionally was in 2015, losing by a fourth-round knockout. He does have a few years of bare-knuckle boxing under his belt, which is what sets him apart from other Paul opponents. Despite that, this should be a routine Paul win over a mixed martial artist. Paul to win by late stoppage.
